This year’s Earth Day turnout was our best ever and we were very pleased with the high interest we received. Here are some pictures from our table.

DESC serves the Puget Sound region, providing state-licensed mental health and chemical dependency treatment, emergency shelter, and permanent supportive housing for homeless adults. Since 2009, DESC has moved over 1,100 vulnerable adults off of Seattle’s streets and into housing.

April 21-27 is National Volunteer Week and Botanical Designs encourages those in the greater Seattle and Bellevue areas to participate. Established in 1974, National Volunteer Week focuses national attention on the impact and power of volunteerism as an integral part of our civic leadership. Volunteer to make our community a better place.

The Canopy Project is an excellent example of what others are doing worldwide to promote a healthy planet for all of us.

As part of its mission to protect natural lands and preserve the environment for all people, Earth Day Network developed The Canopy Project to plant trees that help communities. Trees reverse the impact of land degradation and provide food, energy and income, helping communities to achieve long-term economic and environmental sustainability. Trees also filter the air and help stave off the effects of climate change.

Earth Day Network made a commitment with the Global Poverty Project to plant 10 million trees over the next five years in impoverished areas of the world. Please join The Canopy Project to help make this commitment a reality. Help Earth Day Network grow the Earth’s canopy by planting trees where they are needed most!

Our owner and president, Scott Barron, was recognized at a September 24 BOMA luncheon for being the Chairman of the PAC committee for the 2012 International BOMA Convention. The convention took place in Seattle in June 2012 and will be held in San Diego in 2013.

The Building Owners & Managers Association is a professional trade association with several hundred members from over 250 firms that own or manage commercial real estate, or provide goods and services to the commercial real estate industry. Botanical Designs has been an active member since 2004 and has found great value participating in BOMA Outreach Programs.

Scott was named BOMA Seattle King County Member of the Month earlier this year. Botanical Designs is proud to be a member of an organization that actively represents the best interests of commercial real estate owners, real estate professionals, and service providers, like commercial landscaping companies.

It’s Raining Baubles represents different types of Seattle rain with bright, jewel-tone ornaments hanging throughout a spacious commercial lobby. The color palette of bright red, green, and violet, includes accents of lavender. The most notable elements are the spectacular rain wall and 48” wreaths, heavily saturated with ornaments on the bottom, like a cloud about to rupture with texture and color.

Solar Swirl features a whirlpool of color that complements a three-story glass art sculpture by Dale Chihuly. A striking planter bed and the sound of falling water are specifically designed to enhance the hovering sculpture and open atrium. The custom plant palette reflects the movement of light from the illuminated glass. Our designers describe Solar Swirl as “an explosion of light meets a swirl of live color.”
